Historical background of Gurudwara Guru Ki Ber Sahib
The historical background of this holy holy place is about 360 years old. After the martyrdom of the fifth Guru Sahib Ji in 1606 AD, when the sixth Guru Sahib Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji took over the Guriyali, he was feeling the same at the young age of 11 years. It was said that there can be no devotion without power. The master of Miri Piri, working from a distance, in 1609 AD, alarmed by the increasing fastness and military power of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Jahangir arrested Guru Sahib in 1611 AD. K was imprisoned in the Gwalior fort. Mian Mir and Hakeem Alimuddin Anwarsi, the devotees of the Guru's house, after a year and a half, got the order to release the Guru along with the captive Raja from Jahangir.
Until the death of Jahangir in 1627 AD, he was in friendly relationship with his Guru Sahib, but as soon as Shah Jahan sat on the throne, the story of rivalry began anew. After two wars with the Mughal forces in 1629 AD at Gumtala and the site of today's Khalsa College, Guru Sahib was looking for a place that he could use as a military base.Historian Latif writes that Guru Sahib chose the town of Gobindpur, far from Lahore and Amritsar, from the perspective of a military base.
Bhai Kahan Singh Nabha has written in Mahan Kosh that Gobindpur was settled by Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji in 1587 AD. It is also written on the edge of the pages of the old Bir of the Guru Granth Sahib of Kartarpur that Gobindpur was settled in 1587 AD but later this town was handed over to Bhagwan Das Kher due to the mischief of the Hindus. When Guru Hargobind Sahib arrived here as Goindwal in 1630 AD, he first of all reformed this tyrannical and mischievous Bhagwan Das Gherd.Half a mile outside the city, after the war ended, Guru Sahib established a diwan where Gurdwara Damdama Sahib is today. After the victory of Guru Hargobind Sahib, the name of Gobindpur was changed to Sri Hargobindpur.
On his return from Sri Hargobindpur to Amritsar, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib stayed one night at the place of Guru Ki Bed Wali by today's Guru, Gurwak A, "Jithe Jai Bahe Mera Satguru Soi Than Suhawa.To prove the truth of this Mahawak, Akal Purakh blessed Sant Baba Labh Singh and took this service from him.
Sant Baba Labh Singh Ji
Brahm Giani 108 Saint Baba Labh Singh Ji was a resident of Jampal, Chhajwali village of Amritsar district, while serving in the army, when his soul forbade him to be a murderer, he stopped eating meat and also left the army job. After leaving the job, he was jailed 12 times under the fronts of the freedom struggle and then bought an acre of land with the pension he got due to this.e took part in the march against the desecration of Delhi Gurdwaras and was jailed three times. Then he was accompanied by Bhagat Sant Baba Sewa Singh Ji. After that he was Baba Bakshish Singh. Served the yard with the saints for 12 years.After his death, he came to a well in Bhoewal and built two rooms, spread the flow of Gurbani and made many souls Gurus.
Guruji had immense love for plants. He came here in 1969 AD to the holy place where Guru Hargobind Sahib was touched by the feet of Guru Hargobind Sahib. He first built a cooli under a beri tree and then built a room for Guru Granth Sahib. Endless devotees joined him till 5th April 1981. He remained the guardian of Gurmat and handed over this service to his devoted servant Sant Baba Sewa Singh Ji before completing his worldly journey.
Sant Baba Sewa Singh Ji (1957-1992)
Guru Mati's Dhadi, the precious gem of the panth, the five selfless devout servants of service, renunciation and Gurbani, Sant Baba Sewa Singh Ji was born to father Sardar Kartar Singh and mother Pritam Kaur in village Boparai in 1957 AD in district Amritsar. From the beginning, Aap ji had devotion and dedication towards Guru Ghar and when Sant Baba Labh Singh came to the place of Gurdwara Guru Ki Ber in 1969 AD, this devotion took the form of Guru Bhakti. He used to go to his job and sometimes spent the whole day in his service. Because of his mother's mind, Sant Babaji made service his religion. AAP spent three months in prison against the desecration of Delhi Gurdwaras brought to Sant Baba Labh Singh permanently.In 1976, he went to visit Shri Hajur Sahib, then on the way he stopped for some time to receive the education of Taksal from Sant Baba Thahara Singh and then reached Shri Hajur Sahib and continued to receive the Gurbani Vidya of Sant Baba Harnam Singh Ji and then his permission. After agreeing, he served the langar in the Gurdwara for two and a half years and worshiped the Lord.When the condition of Sant Baba Labh Singh and others began to deteriorate due to the death of Aap Ji, some Singhs went as Sangat and brought him back with the permission of the Saint. G imposed succession.
Laying the foundation stone of Shri Hari Gobind Sahib Khalsa College from 5th April 1981 after becoming the Chief Sevadar in only 12 years. The works which he has done are no less than miracles, his habit of working with his hands, his personality and exemplary life of learning impressed the Sangat so much that they joined themselves with heart, mind and wealth in the construction of this great Kumbh of service. He committed martyrdom on December 2, 1992 AD while serving the Sikhs with dignity.
Sant Baba Sajjan Singh Ji
Sant Baba Sajjan Ji is the third successor of Gurdwara Guru Ki Ber Sahib and Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Seva Society who has had the privilege of having the name of the first two great men namely Sant Baba Labh Singh Ji and Sant Baba Sewa Singh Ji in service only. . Rather, they have also received the love of sons from these great men. This personality, who is as pure as Kundan in sacrifice and service, was born in the year 1971 AD to Sardar Ajit Singh and Mata Puran Kaur in village Boparai district Amritsar. In the third grade, he was removed from Boparai and admitted to the Government Primary School, Bhoi. and became interested in the study of Gurbani.
At the age of eight, Sant Baba Labh Singh ji asked him from his family. Sant Baba Sewa Singh ji gave him all the love of his parents. He opened a joint account with him in the bank from the time he was studying in the fifth grade. Baba Sewa Singh ji had himself declared him to be his successor. After the sudden and untimely death of Sant Baba Sewa Singh ji, the great personalities of the panth formally installed themselves as the third successors of Gurdwara Guru Ki Ber Sahib. The Sangh should help so that it can not only carry out the unfinished tasks while maintaining the great traditions but also provide new and innovative directions.
